Marshall congratulates Honda Aircraft on European EASA award

HondaJet1Geneva. Marshall Aircraft Sales congratulated Mr Michimasa Fujino, Founding President and CEO of Honda Aircraft Company, as the company formally accepted the keys to its newly European EASA certificated new HondaJet at the EBACE Show in Geneva.

“As the Northern European dealership, we are very pleased to now have our own HondaJet demonstrator at our Birmingham base,” commented Howard Povey, Head of Aircraft Sales, Northern Europe for Marshall. “We are excited about our customers experiencing this innovative technology, as it not only breaks the conventional mould set by the aerospace industry, but provides category-enhancing advancements such as a more spacious cabin, highest speed and superior fuel efficiency.”

Prior to the official handover on May 24 at Europe’s premier business aviation show, FlairJet pilot Captain Mike Finbowtook the lead in ferrying the aircraft from Greensboro, North Carolina. The crew flew the aircraft from Honda Aircraft Company’s Greensboro facility to Bangor, Maine then to Goose Bay, Canada; to Iqaluit, Frobisher Bay, North Canada; East Sondrestrom, Greenland and then on to Keflavik in Iceland. From Keflavik it flew to Wick in northern Scotland, before its final leg to Marshall’s Birmingham Airport UK facility, where it was greeted with a celebratory water cannon salute.

Marshall’s management and charter business FlairJet commented: “The HondaJet handled extremely well, super solid and easy to fly. Climb performance was excellent. This is a premium, state-of-the-art aircraft in the light jet class and its distinctive appearance stands it out from the crowd.” HondaJet2

The HondaJet is the world’s most advanced light business jet aircraft, with best-in-class advantages in performance, comfort, quality and efficiency. The HondaJet is the fastest highest-flying, quietest and most fuel efficient jet in its class.

It incorporates many technological innovations in aviation design, including the unique Over-the-Wing Engine Mount (OTWEM) configuration hat dramatically improves performance and fuel efficiency by reducing aerodynamic drag. The OTWEM design also reduces cabin sound, minimizes ground-detected noise and allows for the roomiest cabin in its class. It offers the largest baggage capacity and a fully serviceable private aft lavatory.

The HondaJet is powered by two highly-efficient fuel-efficient GE Honda HF120 turbofan jet engines and is equipped with the most sophisticated glass flight-deck available in any light business jet, a Honda customised Garmin G3000 new-gen all-glass avionics system composed of three 14-inch landscape-format displays and dual touch-screen controllers. The HondaJet is Honda’s first commercial aircraft and lives up to the company’s reputation for superior performance, efficiency, quality and value.
